Whitesbog is part of Brendan T. Byrne State Forest and includes the village and the surrounding 3,000 acres of cranberry bogs, blueberry fields, reservoirs, sugar sand roads, and Pine Barrens forests.

This is a fantastic area for families and their pets. There are sand tracks that run through past bogs, forests and fields. There are boardwalks and bridges through a ceder swamp and smaller trails that wind through the woods. You can see the historic buildings and even go inside the General Store on the weekends.

A Washington native I have spent the last few years experiencing what New Jersey has to offer because I can’t imagine parenting indoors.
