Arcata Community Forest - Trails 1, 18, 9, & 3 Loop
About This Trail
Arcata Community Forest is a gorgeous mossy redwood forest trail system near Humboldt State. This particular loop trail is a moderate skill level trail, due to the 450ft elevation gain and then the somewhat steep decent. The trails are very well maintained and wide enough for young toddler to walk, but a carrier is very likely needed. The trail is good for 4-5 year olds to do alone, but youymay need to find a nice spot to stop andahave a snack during the biggest elevation gain (trail 9).
And if your little needs to burn some energy after the hike, there is a playground and grassy field near the bathrooms.

I am a mama of two boys. I love drinking tea and am a better mom when we are outside exploring nature (and when I have tea). I have a family bike and love it. I enjoy baking, cooking, and eating my creations. I love the idea of yoga, but never seem to be consistent in finding time to practice. I love reading, but again rarely find the time. My family just ventured into urban farming. I love sour beers and delicious food. I work for a local non-profit as a training coordinator, and volunteer as a Branch Ambassador for our local HiB community and for the HiB Localized Support National volunteer team.
