Avalanche Lake
About This Trail
This is a great little trail for a family hike while Glacier National Park. You start out walking thru big cedar trees and at the end you reach a quiet glacier fee lake with Crystal clear water and a real color. 4.5 miles round-trip with some ups and downs. Overall a great quiet hike in glacier!
The elevation gain is around 730 feet. Overall the trail is good and is appropriate for beginner to intermediate hikers. It doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or in advanced hiker. This hike is a big pay off. You will have to pinch yourself when looking at the lake and the waterfalls. The trail is shade covered for the majority of the trip and is a very comfortable hike. Get to the parking lot early before 8 AM. Or show up later in the afternoon (2pm on) to catch open spots in the parking lot.

Hike it Baby Trail Guide is managed by the Family Trail Guide team. If a trail has been “abandoned” by the initial owner, it gets adopted by the team. Also, if there are no trails in the area, the Family Trail Guide team researches trails that are family friendly in the area to insure that hikes cover all areas where Hike it Baby hikes.
