About This Trail

[Total: 0    Average: 0/5]

Nearly 3 miles of trails run through the WSU Campus offering an opportunity for walking, jogging, and biking. The trail features a river and offers a variety of activity options depending on the time of year.

Starting at the Gray Lot, follow the maintenance track until you reach a trail junction. Go left at the junction into the forested area. At the next junction, go left to pass by Mill Creek. You’ll cross the footbridge and take a right at the next junction.  Follow the paved sidewalk up to the hillside and back into the woods. Follow the wood chip trail leading around the edge of the field and through a fence. You’ll pass the Heritage Garden Barn and a variety of fruit trees before taking a spur trail to the right across another footbridge. Next, you’ll cross a boardwalk before following the trail right up a slope. This will bring you back to the Gray Lot.

Being outside is how I re-charge. It gives me perspective, fills me with gratitude and provides an opportunity to disconnect from the chaos of everyday life. I am fortunate to share this passion with my amazing husband and our son.  I was born and raised in the PNW but I love exploring any area I can get to. One of my favorite things about Hike it Baby is that I have a built in community of friends to provide trail suggestions anywhere we go.

Getting There

Drive I-5 north to Exit 7 for N.E. 134th Street. After exiting, turn right on N.E. 134th Street.

Drive 1.2 miles as 134th becomes Salmon Creek Avenue. Turn left onto WSU Entrance Road at the sign for WSU Vancouver.

Keep on the Entrance Road as you drive up and around the campus for 1.3 miles, dropping to the last public parking area, the Gray Lot, above a pond and forested area. (There are also a few metered spots in the Green Lot, 0.9 miles from the entrance of Salmon Creek Avenue.)
