Trail highlights

Creek / River, Lake, Mud Puddles, Picnic Area, Playground, and Shaded Hike

Trail passes around sports fields, thru woods, over several bridges.

Near lodge a fishing platform is a great place to view fish and turtles. On the back side of the lodge is pond access down a small slope. Near end of trail towards Tolland Intermediate School is the local children’s garden with garden sheds that look like cute cottages and a log stump circle with local flora/fauna information. A Free Little Library near the sheds is a favorite stop. Along Cider Mill Road is a small dam for the main pond, in high water this creates a “waterfall” that is always a hit with little ones.

Mom of 2 in central CT, I have been a part of HIB since 2015 when I joined the Worcester branch in MA when my first child was still under 1 yr old.  Currently a Branch Ambassador for the Hartford Branch. We enjoy getting out to our favorite weekly HIB spot with friends and going on family hikes on weekends to check out new places in the area.
