About This Trail

[Total: 4    Average: 3.5/5]

Damon Lane County Park is a hidden little gem in El Cajon. Though it is called a county park, you do not need to pay to park and there are no bathrooms like at most other county parks. There are two main entrances to the park, either at the end of Via Sefton or Via Bolsa. The center of the park is very shaded which is great for hot days. There is a trail that circles the park that you can hike around, but a large part of that isn’t shaded and it can get very hot. There is a eucalyptus grove that is fun for kids to play and explore in. In the center of the park is a creek to splash in, and keep an eye out for crawdads in the water! There are also two secret swings to play on. In the picture attached below of the map, the blue line is the creek, the green circle is a eucalyptus grove, the red dot is approximately where the two secret swings are, and the yellow line is the small trail you take to get to the secret swings. The swings have been known to get taken down or moved around without warning, so I apologize if they aren’t there when you visit.
