Homestead Trail
About This Trail
Looking for something challenging, but stroller friendly? Then this trail would be an excellent choice. It is great for all terrain strollers and is mostly flat. This trail runs from Roca to Beatrice Nebraska and switches from wooded and shaded, to open and sunny. Depending on the weather and which section you are hiking, come prepared for full sun or full shade. A portion of this trail has historical significance (it is part of the path Native Americans took when forced to relocate to Oklahoma in 1877) and different parts are maintained by different local agencies. This means some areas are better maintained than others. Have a dog? This trail is also leashed dog friendly.

Hike it Baby Trail Guide is managed by the Family Trail Guide team. If a trail has been “abandoned” by the initial owner, it gets adopted by the team. Also, if there are no trails in the area, the Family Trail Guide team researches trails that are family friendly in the area to insure that hikes cover all areas where Hike it Baby hikes.
