This starts out with a short, but big climb up a a rocky slope, then levels out. Not suitable for strollers. Half way point has a beautiful view of Deception Pass Bridge, a great place to take a seat and have a picnic. After the initial climb, it is much more gradual. Some hand holding sections, as there are a few drop offs. Playground at the beginning/end to entice the kids with and a great beach for rock throwing. Bathrooms with running water at the parking lot. Limited cell service. Looking for more mileage, add on Lottie Bay or Roasario Head!

Hello! I am one of the Branch Ambassadors for the Bend, Oregon branch. My daughter was born July 2015 and I didn’t discover HiB until May 2016! I wish I had found it sooner! We find getting outside calms us. It doesn’t matter if it’s sunny, rainy, windy, or even snowing, we always try and get out! We are blessed with so many wonderful trails and places to explore near by. I originally founded the Whidbey Island, Washington Branch after discovering HiB.
