About This Trail

[Total: 0    Average: 0/5]

The trail system of Loch Raven is vast and varied. This short loop offers a glimpse of why we love it!

Park on Providence Road (check street signs) and walk along the shoulder/bike path down to Loch Raven Drive. Across the street you’ll see a trail sign where the guard rail opens. Head uphill and when the path splits, make a right. Follow this downhill until you come to another split (also right), follow this downhill until you reach the reservoir (path isn’t as easy to spot). Loop back around until you’re headinf uphill. This will reconnect with first path and you’ll be heading back down to Loch Raven Dr.

Walk within woods (not along Providence Rd is 1 mile), walk along Providence is ~0.5 miles each way depending on where the car is parked.

Hey! I started as a BA in 2016 because I was looking for ways to not only connect with other outdoor fanatics but to also find a way to encourage new parents and caretakers the courage and support to find ways to get outside. There is no greater joy than watching a child come alive outside! I am happy to help you find the best- for you- Trails, Parks and Epic Play areas in and around Maryland….and add some fun facts in the mix.

About The Guide

Hike it Baby Family Trail Guide is an online resource to help families with children source trails that little legs can hike and parents can feel comfortable with. Hike details are sourced and have been hiked by families who participate in our community. Our contributors do their best to give you all the details they can, but if something is missed, you can reach out to the contributor and offer suggestions for them to add to make it a better trail description for all. This guide was built with a generous 3-year partnership with L.L Bean. Like Hike it Baby, L.L Bean believes that helping get families into nature from birth on is key to healthier, happier communities.
