Muskego Park, one of eight Waukesha County Parks, has a great swimming and fishing hole, family camping, plentiful picnic areas and excellent wooded trails for hiking. The trails here are shaped in a quadrent design, so you can easily select or modify your distance as you go. Find the trailhead at picnic area 4 and just pick a direction! By going left (north) an dfollowing the outer ring, you’ll be surprised to find old abandoned farm equipment, a tractor and an old pick up- very interesting and unique to this hike. The trails are densely wooded and often wet and/or muddy, we’ve had to adjust our hike plans often in the spring or buggy season. However, should you find the wooded trails undesirable, the paved loop is still scenic and you can visit or loop the pond as well. The fall colors on these trails are unmatched in the area!

For 2019 there is a temporary trail closure in he lower right quadrent, easily avoidable by alternate route. The quadrent outer loop is reported as one mile max, it always seems a bit longer to me. If you are looking for spring mud to play in, this is your place!
