The Omni Stone Trail (marked in green on the map) is a path covered in stone pavers creating a handicapped accessible trail which ends at a bird blind–a small structure which you can sit in and watch the birds. There are benches along the path, it crosses a small creek. This creek would be accessible for puddle splashing, take care during high water/flooding. Stroller friendly.

This trail is listed with the Pennsylvania Birding and Wildlife Guide. (See resource links)

Text from the Omni Stone Trail picture:

“This trail is dedicated to the efforts of the PA Conservation Corps and SHADE (Students Helping Aid the Disabled and Elderly).

The trail is designed to accommodate the physically handicapped and elderly and will lead you to an observational bird-blind.

I’m Ruth, and my little hiker is Ellie. We joined Hike it Baby in November 2017, when she was just two months old. I was a new mom, with a new baby, in a new place looking for a community to connect to and a way to get moving gently. In the Fall of 2018 we opened a new branch, Hike it Baby Lebanon-Hershey, Pa. The new branch is a little closer to home, and hope to increase participation in our local community. I’ve always love the outdoors and an occasional hike and Hike it Baby has connected me to the outdoors in a new region of the country. I am proud to get outdoors more frequently and hope to raise a daughter that loves to be outside.

About The Guide

Hike it Baby Family Trail Guide is an online resource to help families with children source trails that little legs can hike and parents can feel comfortable with. Hike details are sourced and have been hiked by families who participate in our community. Our contributors do their best to give you all the details they can, but if something is missed, you can reach out to the contributor and offer suggestions for them to add to make it a better trail description for all. This guide was built with a generous 3-year partnership with L.L Bean. Like Hike it Baby, L.L Bean believes that helping get families into nature from birth on is key to healthier, happier communities.
