About This Trail

[Total: 0    Average: 0/5]

This is a paved road that goes around Presque Isle.  There are also plenty of side trips to be made to lookout points, to black rocks (where people cliff jump from and some the oldest exposed volcanic rock in the world), to sunset point, etc.  The road is seasonal – in the winter it is only open to non-motorized travel.  During the summer months they close it during the following hours to cars (and thus perfect for a HIB Hike):

  • Saturday & Sunday: 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • Monday & Wednesday: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday & Thursday: 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Also note that Water fountains, bathrooms, stroller accessibility, ADA access, etc are seasonal amenities.

My name is Carolyn Provencher.  I grew up spending most of my free time outdoors with my family and it is some of the best memories.  Now that I am a mom, I want to create our own memories with our son, Drew.  When I am not outside with Drew (and sometimes my husband, Evan), I am an acupuncturist/small business owner and active in our local social dance community.

About The Guide

Hike it Baby Family Trail Guide is an online resource to help families with children source trails that little legs can hike and parents can feel comfortable with. Hike details are sourced and have been hiked by families who participate in our community. Our contributors do their best to give you all the details they can, but if something is missed, you can reach out to the contributor and offer suggestions for them to add to make it a better trail description for all. This guide was built with a generous 3-year partnership with L.L Bean. Like Hike it Baby, L.L Bean believes that helping get families into nature from birth on is key to healthier, happier communities.
