About This Trail

[Total: 0    Average: 0/5]

This is a short, easy to access loop in the back of Hurricane. It takes minutes to reach from State Street.

What we love about this trail is the deep reddish brown lava stone on the trail, then there’s a quick steep uphill, which takes you to breathtaking views. You can stay low and hike in the flats or travel up on to the cindercone and look into the old volcano.

Another great aspect to this trail is that it’s super pet friendly. Dogs should be on leash or good at staying under voice control. Please bring poop bags! The landscape is lovely and very clean so it would be nice to keep it that way.

It quickly caught on locally and people started contacting her to help develop hike communities that were baby and toddler focused in other cities. To further support her mission to get families outside, Shanti wrote a book “Hike it Baby: 100 Awesome Outdoor Adventures with Babies and Toddlers.” She is committed to getting local and national parks to be more aware of how they can better support families with babies and newly walking children. Shanti lives in Southern Utah with her husband and son. In her spare time she’s a hike guide and hosts women’s hike retreats
