About This Trail

[Total: 1    Average: 5/5]

The Trail is an moderate .8 mile loop trail that ends at Wetmore Bog.  The trail is well marked – Follow the White blazes out and the green blazes back (or vice versa).  There are some areas that are on boardwalks and others that have boulders and rocks to climb over.  Most of the trail though is relatively smooth and well used.

There is a boardwalk at the bog that is often slightly below the waters edge and your feet may get wet as you walk across.

My name is Carolyn Provencher.  I grew up spending most of my free time outdoors with my family and it is some of the best memories.  Now that I am a mom, I want to create our own memories with our son, Drew.  When I am not outside with Drew (and sometimes my husband, Evan), I am an acupuncturist/small business owner and active in our local social dance community.

Getting There

Head out of Marquette on 550 towards Big Bay.  Pass Sugar Loaf Mountain Trailhead.  The trailhead will be the next right (about a half a mile past).  The road will be on a curve, BEFORE a guard rail.  The road goes downhill and is very difficult to spot with no signage.  If you get to Little Presque Isle you have gone too far.
