What about the 10k project excites you the most?
I’m so excited to be a part of a women’s group that shares the same passion and enthusiasm as I do! I think it’s super important to encourage other women and mamas to get out in nature as much as possible and be a part of a women’s group that’s super supportive.

What role does hiking and the outdoors play in your life? How has it shaped who you are?
It has shaped me and my family in a monumental way. The trail is really where I found myself during my teenage years and into my early twenties. When I found out I was pregnant unexpectedly, I decided to not let my circumstances change me. Instead, I’ve embraced it to the full extent. I’ve been doing the 52 Hike Challenge with my baby in and out of the womb and it has been one of the best things for both of us. He now loves the outdoors and hiking with his mama.

Do you have a hiking story you want to share with us?

Yes! I’m a part of the Women Who Hike group and they hosted their first Northeast hike this past October. My husband let me use his sky miles and took care of our 6-month-old baby the entire weekend while I got to be on my own for the first time in six months. I got to hike in Vermont on Friday, hike my first 4000 footers of the White Mountains of New Hampshire with 30 rad women of Women Who Hike, and go to Acadia National Park on Sunday on my own. It was such a freeing and refreshing weekend to see so much of Mother Nature’s beautiful parks and be with other like-minded women.

We are so excited to welcome Jennifer and the 99 other Trailblazers who have signed on to help lead us in inspiring women all year! Read about our Trailblazers here.
